Hugh Latimer preached in a century that gave an Englishman very little to feel settled about. He said, “When sometimes I sit alone, and have a settled assurance of the state of my soul, and know that God is my God—I can laugh at all troubles, and nothing can daunt me.”

That is the confidence we want for every man at New Hyde Park Baptist Church. Not the composure of a man who has his circumstances under control, but the settled assurance of a man who knows whose he is. No one works that up on his own. It comes as a gift, and it grows where the Word is opened and where men who have received the same grace are honest with one another.

Three of those places are open to you.

Resolute Men’s Breakfast

Saturday mornings, 7:00–9:00 am | Gym

Breakfast provided, normally the second Saturday of each month, but check the church calendar for exact dates. No cost. No RSVP. Just come at 7 am to the gym and enjoy a good breakfast and time around the tables with other men. The focus for Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 is Gripped by Fear and Not Afraid. For more information, email Pastor Doug at pastormcmasters@gmail.com.

Come to either one. You don’t need to know anyone here, and you don’t need to have your life in order before you walk in. Most of us didn’t.

Latimer was not daunted, because he knew God was his God. That God has made himself known in Jesus Christ, and he receives men exactly as they come. Come and see what it is to be a man nothing can daunt.
